"Tina's teaching method of using both sides of the brain
works with everything she does. Learning to dance this
way really improves your creative thinking."

Current dance program in Glenview
"Tina's professionalism and passion for dance have
helped create a very strong adult dance program at the
Glenview Park District. Students continue to sing Tina's
praises and rush to sign up for her classes again and
again." Amber Blake, Supervisor of Cultural Arts
Tina Mangos is a veteran educator and artist in
both visual and performing art. She holds MA
and MFA degrees (master of fine arts) and has
taught at both the high school and university
level, at private studios, and corporate
classrooms. She is a popular presenter for
both student and teacher conferences and has
been featured in television programs and
videos. Her dance talents range from
Ballroom/Latin dance, to DanceBeat Fitness, to
her French Cabaret, to choreography for
events and cotillions. Ms. Mangos offers group
classes in Glenview and personal training in
her Jefferson Park studio. Along with her
dance business, Ms. Mangos is a full-time high
school art teacher where she also directs after school programs in dance and social skills.
Living a life driven by creative thinking, social
consciousness, and artistic expression is a
passion she shares with her students. Ms.
Mangos consistently wins high praise for her
ability to quickly assess customer needs and
design a relevant and innovative program. Her
unique teaching method, which she calls
"cross-training the brain," integrates both
analytical and abstract thinking; her classes
are fun, productive, and sprinkled with humor.
Born in Greece and having grown up here, in a
working class ethnic community, she
developed a strong work ethic imparted by her
parents. Ms. Mangos maintains her Greek
culture and traditions, which are also an
inspiration for her art.
From Tina: "Welcome to my dance class"
I train intelligent, creative dancers with technique
and style--dancers who engage with the music and
know how to adapt their movements to fit the style
of music. If you come as a couple and want to stay
together, that's fine; while others will rotate
partners. And remember...Class is where you
have permission to make mistakes, to dance at the
pace of the slower of the 2 people, to not feel like
you have to "show your partner a good time." This
is where egos get checked in at the door; where
students challenge themselves, fall on their butts,
and accomplish great things.
