The Art of Social Dance
"method to the madness"
"the natural way to dance" for the
purpose of social dancing
Learn the "art" of each dance with technique, putting patterns together, leading, following, styling for men and women, and understanding the music. Tina's method of teaching is based on many years of successful experience, which she calls "cross-training the brain"--think like a scientist and perform like an artist. You'll look natural and dance in a style that suits you.
Men, you'll learn specific rules and information on leading. You'll learn the "root" patterns of a dance, but then learn how to get into each one differently and how to attach different endings--just like the grammar of a language. You'll "think on your feet" so you won't be predictable. Women, you'll learn the "rules of following" and styling, so you can be expressive and confident. You will "cross-reference" patterns in various dances to see the similarities and understand concepts. For example, understand the technique of a "back-spot-turn" for the man as it relates to salsa, rumba, bolero, and mambo--so it's a smooth movement as the lady turns.
Remember, "elegant can be sexy."

Tina's creations:
In addition to foxtrot patterns that travel in "line-of-dance" around a large ballroom, Tina has created a syllabus for foxtrot that you can do on a small floor,
in your own space. Often times you find yourself at a banquet hall with a small floor and you still want to
groove to a Frank Sinatra song without crashing into people.
We're going to be great dancers because of you! We want to learn more----

(Tina's) American Slow-Dance
In response to a need for dancing to slow music that's not a foxtrot or even the "night club 2," Tina had designed--decades ago--a syllabus for her
American Slow-Dance,
which is versatile and
practical. This dance is perfect for many contemporary songs chosen by wedding couples, as well as oldies and other popular music.
